For super high-density packages there is a need for smaller and smaller annular rings. To get a perfect result, not only is the
registration of the boards very important, but also the drilling accuracy must be optimized. To achieve the best drilling accuracy, Lenz has developed the high precision drilling machine. DLA 615-1.

High productivity

• High Speed spindles up to 250.000 rpm

• High dynamic linear motor drives for the X, Y and Z-axis

• Light weight machine components

To reach a drilling accuracy of ± 10 microns, many issues have
to be addressed. For the DLA machine, Lenz use precision
engineered granite for the base components; this is one of the basic
fundamental starting points for highest precision. The Linear guides,
mounted on the granite, are selected from the highest class
available. All the linear motors are thermo isolated and temperature
regulated by a digitally controlled cooling system. It is only natural
then that the optical linear measurement systems are laser
calibrated.
